Privacy statement
How we handle the personal information you entrust to us, both on this website and as a licensed school.
Our commitment
One of our most important responsibilities to you is safeguarding the personal information you entrust to us, and using that information responsibly. This statement explains how we do it. If anything here concerns you, please tell us.
Information we hold about families
As a licensed child care centre and registered private school we are required to collect and retain certain records: registration and enrolment forms, immunisation records, birth certificates, emergency contacts and their photographs, physician details, allergy and dietary information, and records of illness or injury.
How we use it
- To run the school and care for your child safely.
- To meet our obligations under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 and Ontario Regulation 137/15.
- To contact you, and to reach the people you have authorised in an emergency.
- To issue receipts and administer fees.
Parents and guardians authorise the school to release personal information to any authority requiring it for medical or emergency purposes, and to share contact details with other families in the school for medical, contact or emergency reasons.
Disclosure without consent
Access to a child’s records without parental consent may only be given to officials of the following: the Coroner’s Office; courts, in response to a warrant or court order; the Ombudsman; authorities vested under provincial or federal statute; and the Minister and officials to whom the Minister has delegated authority.
Photographs of children
We recognise and highlight our students’ achievements through classroom and hallway displays, school publications and, occasionally, the media. Photographs of children may also be used in material promoting the school, including this website, printed pamphlets and flyers.
In accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, families who do not wish their child’s photograph or accomplishments to be displayed or used in promotional material may say so on the registration form, or at any later point by writing to the office. We will act on that immediately and without awkwardness.
This website
What the site collects
This website does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies. The enquiry form on the contact page collects only what you type into it, and is used solely to reply to you.
Embedded content
Our locations page embeds maps from Google Maps. When those maps load, your browser contacts Google’s servers, which will see your IP address. We have no control over, and no access to, what they do with it.
Hosting
Our host keeps standard server logs, which may include IP addresses, for security and diagnostic purposes.
How long we keep records
Child and family records are retained for as long as required by the regulations governing licensed child care and registered private schools in Ontario, and are then securely destroyed.
