A small school means a short list. These are the people who run Discovering Minds, and you will meet most of them on your first visit.
Principal & Head of School
Educational leadership
Leads the school’s educational programme and its classroom teams, and is named as principal on the Ontario Ministry of Education register. Supervises the school under Ontario Regulation 137/15.
Director & Administrator
Licensee
Holds the school’s child care licence and is responsible for administration, admissions and the policies and procedures that govern the school. Writes and maintains the Parents Handbook.
Montessori Directress
Public relations & emergencies
Leads a classroom and is the school’s first point of contact for families. Enrolled families are given a direct number for out-of-hours emergencies.

Leads a classroom and looks after registration paperwork, records and family correspondence.
Teaching credentials
That is not the norm. Many schools that use the Montessori name staff their classrooms with a mix of trained and untrained adults. Every teacher at Discovering Minds holds a Montessori teaching diploma and is a member of the Canadian Association of Montessori Teachers, and our teacher training is recognised through the Pan American Montessori Society and MACTE.
Tours run during a working morning so you can watch the teachers with the children rather than hear about them from a brochure. They resume the moment our new building opens — the same teachers, in a new room.
