Registration is open year round — places are limited

The process

Five steps, and none of them are a surprise

  1. 01

    Get in touch

Call the office or send us a note with your child’s date of birth and roughly when you would like to start. If your child is not yet 28 months, ask to go on the waiting list — that is the list places come from.

  2. 02

Visit when the new school opens

We are between buildings, so tours resume once our new downtown location opens — between 9:00 and 11:00, with the work period actually running. Families already on our list are offered the first ones. Do not wait to ask the hard questions, though: we will answer them now, by phone or email.

  3. 03

    Apply

Register online through Owlwise, the system the office actually runs on — the button at the top of this page goes straight there. If you would rather do it on paper, ask the office for the form. Applications are taken all year round and are approved as places come free; there is no single September cut-off.

  4. 04

    Accept the place

A place is confirmed once the enrolment agreement is signed and the registration fee is received. We will then send you the full checklist of documents.

  5. 05

    Get ready to start

Immunisation records, birth certificate, emergency contacts, photographs, permission forms, uniform, indoor shoes and bedding if your child naps. We will walk you through all of it.

Before the first day

What we will need from you

Most of this is required by our child care licence rather than by us. Immunisation records in particular are a legal obligation, to the school and to Public Health.

  • Completed registration form and enrolment agreement
  • Up-to-date immunisation records (2, 4, 6, 12 and 18 months, and 4–6 years)
  • Copy of your child’s birth certificate
  • Three photographs of your child, and two of each parent
  • Two emergency contacts, with photographs, authorised to collect your child
  • Your child’s physician’s name, address and phone number
  • Registration fee, and a voided cheque if paying monthly
  • Outdoor, sleeping and photography permission forms
  • Allergy and dietary forms, signed by your doctor where required
  • Bedding, if your child rests during the day
If immunisation conflicts with a sincerely held religious or conscientious belief, or a physician advises against it, the regulation allows for a written exemption. Speak to the office.

Admission criteria

How we decide, said plainly

Age and readiness

Twenty-eight months and toilet-trained is the floor. Beyond that we look for a child who can separate from a parent, follow a simple direction, and show some interest in doing things for themselves.

A three-year intention

We would rather you came in knowing that the third year is the one that pays. We do not require a three-year contract, but families who plan for it get far more out of the school.

Space in the right age band

Because classrooms hold a three-year span, a place opening up is always a place in a particular band. This is why the waiting list matters and why timing sometimes does not go the way anyone wants.

What we cannot provide

We have no nurse or medical staff on site, and there are needs we are not equipped to meet without a family funding dedicated support. We will tell you honestly and early if we think that is the case.

Younger than 28 months?

Join the waiting list now. Families on it are contacted first when a place opens, and the youngest band fills fastest.

Starting mid-year?

Perfectly normal. Fees are calculated from your start date through to the following 30 June, and many families ease in over the summer first.

Coming from another school?

Tell us what your child has already done. Children arrive here at every age and from every kind of programme, Montessori or otherwise.

Start with a visit

Everything above is easier to judge in person. Call the office, or send a note with your child’s age and when you would like to start.
